Strawberry Pie

2 cups mashed fresh strawberries

1 cup w. sugar

1/2 c. water

3 Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with the water

Bring to the boil. Simmer until clear & thick.

Add 1 tsp butter and 1 tsp lemon juice ( 1 Tbsp if berries are sweet).

Pour over a baked pie shell, which has been lined with sliced raw strawberries. Chill . Cover with whipped cream and decorate with ripe berries.
