Sin of the week!
Sinful Lunch
On a recent business trip to Orlando to participate in
completely godly activities like a work, trip to the Magic Kingdom and the
wonderfully Christian theme park Holy
Land, we discovered a sin. Sadly, sin occurs everywhere and if you are
paying attention you can spot sin even in a wholesome place like Orlando. After
a wonderful church service myself and my companion decided that lunch was
in order before a trip to the airport. We had it all planned out and had
even practiced our journey to the airport and the car rental business the
day before. During our practice run we spotted a suitable church near the
airport and we decided that it was pragmatic to worship near the
airport.
So
off we went, bibles in hand and a prayer in our heart. Lovely service,
wonderful congregation, could the day get any better? We decided that it
was important that we also eat lunch near the airport so on the way out to
the parking lot to board our minivan we asked "where is the nearest
restaurant". We were told there is a reasonably priced establishment down
the street, behind a hotel. It was called "Hooters". Not knowing
what kind of restaurant this "Hooters" was we took a chance
because of the colorful cartoon owl on the logo. Inside we
found the staff very friendly but somewhat scantily clad. Now it is not my
place to judge these lovely young ladies but please.......cover up a
little. I found it very distracting and my mind was full of clearly non-Christian
thoughts. Our server was a lovely young woman who "claimed" that
her current employment was very lucrative. She kind of looked a little
like that singer...what's her name...... umm.....Jennifer Lopez. She had
large beautiful brown eyes like Bambi. She also told us that this job
provided her with better compensation than her previous employment and
that it was necessary to continue exploiting her good looks to make ends
meet. I will not judge her because she has the free will that God provides
to make her own decisions. So this is when I spotted
the sin of the week. To my amazement
people were actually bringing there entire families into this sinful restaurant.
Little children, teenage boys and a grandmother. What in Gods name were
these people thinking. To allow a young girl to see these fallen women in
these skimpy outfits, push-up bras and the shortest of shorts. It can only
lead to a continuing supply of Hooters employees. Please pray for the
young souls who enter this establishment. After our lunch
of chicken wings we asked if they had any peaches for desert, they did not
so we opted to save our desert appetite for the pretzels our airline would
surely provide. The moral of this story is ............. do
not take young souls anywhere will they may spot
sin. Biblical
Reference: Zechariah, chapter 5 8:
And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the
ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
9: Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came
out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like
the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and
the heaven.
10: Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these
bear the ephah?
